When construction machinery rolls into polar mining sites

When icebreakers operate amid icy seas

When heavy-lift drones take off and land at frigid airfields

The smooth cold start and precise responsiveness of a hydraulic system directly determine equipment safety and operational efficiency.
Extreme environments of -40°C and below pose far more complex challenges to hydraulic systems than commonly assumed. Substandard hydraulic fluid performance will compromise the entire system, bringing about the following issues:
1. Fluid thickens and congeals in frigid temperatures, making one-touch equipment startup impossible;
2. Unstable lubricant film leads to slow, inaccurate precision movements;
3. Fluctuating system pressure undermines consistent operation quality;
4. Wax precipitation and additive separation cause gum formation and jamming in precision valve assemblies.

These issues may remain insignificant under ambient temperatures, yet they multiply drastically in frigid polar conditions, ultimately bringing the entire hydraulic system to a halt.
Amer Aviation Low-Temperature Anti-Wear Hydraulic Oil PL Series (hereinafter referred to as the Amer PL Series)
is specially developed to address the challenges of one-touch startup and precise control in extreme cold environments.
1. Special for extreme cold conditions: Instant startup at -55°C with zero preheating

Low-temperature kinematic viscosity serves as the core indicator for evaluating the low-temperature fluidity of hydraulic oil — the lower the value, the smaller the flow resistance of the fluid, and the faster the startup response of equipment. For this critical metric, the Amer PL Series adopts a custom low-pour-point formula to fundamentally break through the bottleneck of low-temperature startup, with measured performance far exceeding industry standards:

The Amer PL Series effectively addresses the industry pain point of difficult cold starts for hydraulic systems in extreme cold environments. It reduces flow resistance, improves response speed, ensures rapid startup and smooth operation of equipment under frigid working conditions, and enables instant-on operation.
2. High Viscosity Index for Sensitive System Response

The smaller the viscosity fluctuation across wide temperature ranges, the more guaranteed the control precision of precision hydraulic systems. A higher viscosity index indicates stronger temperature variation adaptability of the oil.
Conventional low-temperature hydraulic oils generally feature a viscosity index below 160, which tends to cause slow response and reduced control accuracy under working conditions with drastic temperature differences. In contrast, the Amer PL Series boasts a maximum viscosity index up to 400:
